Hi! My name is Amanda Shapiro, I am from Bergen County, NJ, and I am a junior studying Sport Management at the University of Michigan. Sports have played a prominent role in my life starting at the age of eight when I attended my first Brooklyn Nets game. From then on, I have aspired to work in the NBA. 

 

Last summer, I worked for Wasserman, a global sports and entertainment agency, as a Social Media and Sports Talent Intern, as well as a Social Media and Marketing Intern for SLAM, a magazine combining basketball with hip hop culture. On campus, I am the External Events Chair in Michigan Women Empowerment in Sport and Entertainment (MWESE), and am a member of Michigan's Sport Business Association (SBA).

 

During my internships, I have had the opportunity to run Wasserman Basketball's social media accounts, creating and curating content for the 2024 NBA Draft for Wasserman's clients. I also covered University of Michigan Men's Basketball games for SLAM University, blending my passion for basketball with content creation. Additionally, I helped with the launch of SLAM's 30th Anniversary book through video creation and covering their anniversary party, helping to celebrate this milestone in basketball culture.

My career interests include creative and digital marketing, communications, and social media. I am passionate about leveraging my skills to make a significant impact in the sports industry.
